Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme

The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is now closed and has been integrated into the newly established Empower programme, which also incorporates other funding programmes.

Empower will support the next generation of research talent while strengthening research environments and capability. Under the programme, Research Ireland will peer review and assess institutional applications rather than applications from individual scholars and researchers, with funding awarded at an institutional level.

The Empower programme is an invited call open to 18 eligible Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), with one institutional application permitted from each HEI.
